The Sicó Outdoor Centre encompasses the municipalities of Ansião and Alvaiázere, united by impressive natural landscapes, unique geodiversity and a deeply rooted cultural heritage. Between mountains, valleys and karst formations, this is a place that invites you to embrace outdoor adventure, discover local traditions and forge a genuine connection with nature and local communities.

At the Sicó Outdoor Centre, nature, people and heritage go hand in hand. This is because the project was created with a clear purpose: to promote active and nature-based tourism while preserving ecosystems, cultural values and the authenticity of local communities.

Each trail has been carefully designed to respect the environment and generate positive impacts on the region’s economy and identity. And because preservation is as important as enjoyment, signposts along the trails, regular maintenance and responsible visitor practices are also key tools for ensuring a sustainable future.

In addition, preserving the karst landscape (with its caves, dry valleys and unique limestone formations) is a top priority. Protecting fragile ecosystems and biodiversity is not just an environmental responsibility – it is a shared commitment with all visitors, who, more than tourists, are partners in a living, breathing territory. Partners willing to engage with local communities, support small producers and artisans and enjoy local accommodation and restaurants, transforming each experience into a direct contribution to local development.
